Another Sunny Rentrée Picnic - 13-09-2009
The origin of the Rentrée picnic as the first event of the new ESC season is lost in the murky mists of time. Some people claim that it may be represented in the cave paintings at Lascaux. No matter, the weather was perfect this year and some 30-40 members including children spanning a wide range of ages, gathered by the lake at the Orangerie for a relaxed and friendly chat over the egg and cress sandwiches. It was a splendid opportunity to catch up with old friends and to meet a number of new faces; a successful start to a year which we expect to provide something for everybody over the coming months.
